Day 2: Global Village, Dubai

After the comatose, we got ready to get going again. It doesn't end just like that right.

We headed over to Global Village. A little bit about the place. It runs only during winter, from November to March. I was THAT lucky, managed to be there as that was the last few days before it closes for the season. It's a huge place, get ready for some walks. It displays a little bit of culture of every country and every nationality. It's a definite successful project to attract tourists and locals alike. Apart from that, there are fountains, performances both dancing and singing, and fireworks too.

The face after comatose. Jang jang jang! Oh and we took the shuttle bus from Union station and it's about 30 minutes travel time or more, depending on traffic. Another way, is from Al Ghubaiba station. I think we tried that first but couldn't find any bus station there. 

That's the first country at the entrance, took a picture with Habibi. Maximizing opportunity with the camels. Without a doubt, that's the homeland, UAE. They closed that early! Right after we reached, took pics, we saw them closing o.O

If I were to give a conclusion, Africa is the most interesting compared to the others. They were selling things that represent Africa, and there was a guy who dresses up in African's traditional costume taking pictures with tourists, along with African music.

Turkey was alright too. They were selling a lot of Turkish things as well as Turkish delights.

There comes my country, which is very disappointing. Whatever they were selling is not a Malaysian thing. They were selling clothes, phone casings? Mops? Oh except for the biscuits. Our country is so small that we had to combine with Singapore.

UK was not impressive either. They had only this backdrop. Other than that, there wasn't anything.

That's the dancing performance I mentioned earlier in the post. Yay!

We walked, walked and walked and still, we didn't cover every little corner. We were beat already.

If you have not taken any food, not to worry. There are so many food stalls around, and restaurants, you will not go hungry.

Oh and Egypt. The pavilion is nice, it is their famous pyramid.

Of course, there are many many more countries and it's not that I can include all in a post. But, these are the highlights. South-east-asians were just not accurate.

For 15 AED, I think it's worth a visit at least once. There are people who really love the place that they visit every single year. I guess, once is enough for me. It is open til 12AM on their normal weekdays (Saturday til Wednesday) and Thursday, Friday & Public holidays til 1AM.

Settle Down

For some reason, after so many years, I still remember what this woman asked me back then, 7-8 years ago. It's not something important but my brain works that way. It remembers every single little detailed thing that's not important. It just came to my mind today, God knows why.

See, we were working in an industry that doesn't give us any social life except for an intoxicated social life, or mamak. Choose one. Back then, partying is how it goes. We don't mamak. It was boring to mamak. Being young, bored, and no daylife, we frequent clubs and bars.

This woman, whom I wasn't close, and still not, asked me if my bf knows I club so often. I just hate it when people say things like that, like as if I have to follow the norm to have a bf like her. C'mon, boring much? It sure was. I asked her what made her think I had one? Her reaction was way too dramatic, "what?! You don't have." Hello, it's not a crime and why must I have one. Irritating.

She told me that I should think of settling down already to have a stable life. OMFG. You gotta be kidding me. I was 23-24. I told her that I don't wanna lead a boring life like her.

She got married months after that, and it amazed me that not long after she got married, heard stories of her cheating on her husband. Ah, this is really amusing. Get married and cheat. So, that's the whole point of getting married I see. It's not for me to say a word, but yeah woman, great advice..

Right after she left, I didn't see, heard about, or talk about her anymore. Well, let's just say, the interest isn't there to know about her amusing life or things that she said.

UK: Arrochar, Scotland

After the whiskey tour, everyone were all feeling warm, we drove all the way to Arrochar. That's where we stayed that night.

The audience, first to go was la grandma, surrounded by all men. Haha. Had few rounds of beer, then, it's good to sleep. Goodnight all, it's going to be an early morning as we leave Scotland.

UK: London Day 2 Part 3 & Day 3

We continued our journey, this was our last stop before headed back to Morden. The Millenium Pier. It's where the river cruise is.

Ohh the clouds! Very nice windy afternoon. Tho it was a bit hot, the wind helped. Enjoyed the sights the cruise took us through.

Then, it's dinner time of course! Each time, we are fed with super delicious food! What more can one ask.

The next day, met with Tomoko!  Never have thought, right? But yeah, the time was just right. She left KL, and then, here we are! What a nice view with a glass of beer.

Let's reunite again. I'm sure there will be another time.

Lion King! It was awesome. The whole production was spectacular. After this day, it will be start of our Europe trip.

Dance Performance Halloween Party @ Hartamas Shopping Centre

This year, again,I celebrated Halloween in the studio. This year has been more happening. At least, it wasn't entirely in the studio. Last year, we had the walk around too but it's just walks and nothing else. Plus, there wasn't any Halloween song we practised to.

This year was amazing. We had a new group, and there's no emo emo stuff going on and best of all, we danced to Michael Jackson's thriller.

That guy looks scary and he sounded creepy too, all because he was drunk. Haha.

Our whole group is here. Well, some of the kids just dressed up that day and joined the photo session. We do not know who are they, just passer bys.

Here, is our studio. We had all together 5 performances. 2 of them were flash mobs, and 3 were actual performances. It was such a fun-filled event and I loved it so much.

Dance Performance Halloween Party @ Publika

It was last week, a week before the actual Halloween's Day. Publika was having this event and there were costume Halloween party there too. It's more of a contest.

Yeah, so that's why we have been busy for the past month practicing to Thriller. It's no other than Michael Jackson's famous Thriller dance.

That's the whole gang. All of us on stage. It was a small stage but yeah we all fit in.

Haha. We are the zombies.

It's just us. We did like 5 flash mobs after the actual performance.

Performance never felt so good before. This is something very new and exciting and I love it.


Managed to record the last flash mob. The person that supposed to record it arrived late. Therefore, no, I don't have the video for the actual performance, unfortunately. Look at the bright side, fortunately, there's a video for the last one. Haha.

The Random Sunday

Last weekend,I was pretty much occupied with plans. I didn't really have much time to laze around on my bed starring at the ceiling and do practically nothing. That's one of my favorite past time. I know it sounds so unproductive. Who says sleeping is not productive. If you look at a different perspective, sleeping is productive and it is beneficial for your well-being too. Lack of sleep is hazardous. The effect of it is really huge, and it gets even more as you age or in better terms, grow older.

Yeah, I was doing my nails on Saturday, and Sunday was the time we went to Publika to do free show again. The main event was belly dance but we lost ourselves there and ended up doing a song each for 4 groups. haha.

In between 2 sessions, we were stoning already. The worst part is not when you are performing. But, it's the waiting part that is very painful and taxing. You get so bored you just don't know what to do. Therefore, we ended up having coffee which was necessary, and the red velvet too. It was in Coffee Societe. The red velvet was nice. Otherwise, all of us would have fallen asleep while waiting for our turn.

After everything ended, we did a pit stop. A pit stop that ended us spending an hour there. How awesome I know that. Yeah, I got this ear ring there. It's still affordable though I am already broke. Since I am so broke, might as well, right.

Anniversary 2014

So yeah, there were practices, lots of them before this. This is held every year, may not be the same date or day, but this is sure to be held yearly to help the victims in Japan. This is already the 8th year that funds were raised to help aid for the victims, in particular, those that had lost their parents.

People are only gonna help on the first year. Years that follow by are usually not aided anymore. After covering the cost of the MC, and rentals and etc, the balance goes to the victims.

Farewell Boogie

It was the last ever meeting we had as Athena members. Things will change. 2 had left us for good, one back to Japan, and the other back to UK. How time flies huh?

We had all met with the same passion. That's how it brought all of us together. It is when we go through certain things, we got closer. I wasn't as lucky to get through everything, I joined just in May this year, so I missed the anniversary party and the others. Things will definitely not be the same, but it's great pleasure to be in class with everyone there. Now that 2 of the members had decided to move on, we shall also move on. We will definitely get a chance to cross path again :)

Unconventional Halloween

This year's Halloween has got to be the most unconventional way of celebrating. Seeing these pictures don't mean really that I love kids. My preference of kids around me remains, that I don't. It's not something I must hide or I need to. It's a well known fact I don't get along with them and it's for certain, I don't try to either.

That's all for Halloween's, it was a really really laidback mini gathering we had. Nothing extravaganza or different. Well, this is different, it was a very peaceful and quiet evening, except with the noisy kids.
