Part 3: Bangkok Trip

Happy New Year 2024! It has been such a rollercoaster ride in 2023, with many big decisions, big changes and challenges made in 2023. Phew, what a change. What's interesting is that the monks I went to in the past said there will be a major change each time our age has the digit 9 in the second digit. How interesting! Indeed, it has for me in 2023. The older you get, the less interested you are with celebration, which includes New Year. It's just another day, another night.

Often times, I heard about Sukhumvit and finally, I'm in the area. This is a really eccentric and trendy Japanese-inspired cafe. They have gone into merchandising with coffee accessories like coffee machines ranging of different prices, coffee products etc. A great place to hang out for sure!

Met a Bumble friend who happened to be in Bangkok the same time as me. Yay!

Of course, without a doubt, I met my uni friends, where the mixed Teochews gather. I don't have many friends with Teochew blood but I came all the way to Bangkok to meet them. haha. Jokes aside, we had a really good time, reminiscing our uni days! Those times were good.

Then, they brought us to this dessert place. Dang! My favorite - mango!

A mandatory photo with these 2. Not sure when is the next time I'll be meeting them again. I should honestly do it more. The fact that I do once in 10 years is beyond sad.

The next day, spent some time in an Australian cafe instead - Toby. Ah that's my late dog's name too! I love scrambled with coffee. So here I am.

I don't remember Chatuchak to be like this, I guess it has changed, or I have memory problem I am not sure. Haha. Dropped by for more coffee but of course, how can it be good, just for the sake of I guess. Got some good deals from there though, so no complaints. Department stores are not meant for me, I wouldn't spend so much on clothes.

Next up, I went to this dessert shop, the Thai version of ABC in Cheng Sim Ei, located within the Chulalongkorn University district. I guess similar to University District in Seattle, Ewha University of Hongdae.

Not long after he went back to Bangkok, he got to see me again. Haha.

The local food is a must! Cheap and good. Hainanese noodle thailand in Bangkok.

Small-scale, a little run down and dodgy, is my kinda vibe for good food. This place checks all the boxes.

Second round? Sure. I can't remember the name of the restaurant and bar, but here for some French pastry with cocktail before we call it a night.

Of course

Since Bangkok is named the most visited city in 2023, I visited as a very supportive neighbor. It was a good trip catching up with really old friends and a new friend. Vibrant, lively city as what I have known Bangkok as and it never disappoints. Perhaps, next time I should consider going with someone who has the same mentality as I am then it's way easier. Everyone is different, but to make things easier, let's stick to the people I am familiar with or people that travels the same way as I do. That's the takeaway.

Showdown of the Champions in Bukit Jalil - Roger Federer!

The showdown of the champions that was held recently in Kuala Lumpur ... precisely in Bukit Jalil, fetaure 4 top tennis players from 2 eras. 4 tennis legends in town! Can you believe it? Kill 2 birds with one stone that's what we call it. We have tennis aces in town, just yesterday in a matter of fact, Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, James Blake and definitely Roger Federer

There were interview sessions, authograph sessions ... and I was just oh-so-uberly-excited. I know I sounded like some high school kid anticipating some concert thingy, but man I tell you, this feels even better than going to a concert okay! Thousand turned up in KLCC for the authograph session with Federer. One of my colleague went for it but gave up in the end haha.

Do you know how I rate a guy hawt? Do you know what is a hawt guy to me? Refer below

YESSS!!! It's Roger Federer! How often you hear me saying a guy is hawt! Never okay, alright maybe there are times, but ... it's damn rare so ... for me to say he is damn HAWT, it's really something. He looks damn good in real life, way much better than in pictures considering he already looks damn good in pictures. No, I did not go to KLCC to meet him, you must be joking, I can't bear those crowd. In fact, I saw him twice, once was yesterday and today was the second. He departed KL today though, in the morning boo... :( I purposely waited for him before going home, just to take a glimpse of him, and he made my day!! Like seriousllyyyyy ... damn down-to-earth damn cool. My gawd! He was like what 5 foot away from me as I was just standing so near to the door lolz. Today, before he departed ... I was wanting to see him so badly and I couldn't concentrate on my work but to keep looking at the center of the lobby and when finally I got the chance to get near to him as my colleague can see I was damn crazy over him asked me to follow him to get him to sign the bill, I chickend out after seeing the superbly gigantic bodyguard though I was kinda checking him, the bodyguard, in the day before lolz. But but ... there were 4 of them so nvm ... sigh what a disturbance they are. He was wearing his baseball cap the day before, I was basically nosebleeding all the way. I don't mind lacking of blood lolz. I saw Bjorn Borg twice too, and he was like 2 foot away from me, I was on the floor and he stopped on that level and I never did realize it until I saw his bodyguard :D then I'm like ... my gawd .. that's Borg!

Honestly speaking, I wasn't exposed to tennis before. I started watching tennis since Hewitt days and after awhile I didn't have that much of an interest in tennis. It died down, it faded off, until here comes Federer. Then, I started watching tennis and I was serious, I tried to understand the game and I just love the way he plays, and I started liking tennis, all because of him. OMG!!! I know I have said this so many times, but he is damn HAWT! He is gifted I tell you he really is! He can speak English, German, Swiss German, French some Swedish and Italian as well, oh mein gott!! Und und und ... his residence is in Oberwil and it was just one hour plus travelling time to his place from Luzern!! Where is Luzern? Er ... my school before I graduated lolz. 13 grand slam single titles and had held on to the World Ranking No 1 for 237 consecutive weeks ... if I'm not mistaken ... impressive!

In the end of the day, I got something worth more than a million bucks, maybe not to you, but to me yes definitely it is. I did really something stupid haha .. and I will not say, it's between me and Dede ... coz it's so damn super paiseh to reveal it haha.

The one zillion signature! I know it's not a perfect place but it's perfect for me HAHA.

My dream came true! Before I met him, I was so darn depressed until I said ... so near YET so far ... sounds so jiwang haha but no, ber-drama only lolz

Grueezi und Auf Wiedersehen ... ich hoffe!

Chocolate Fondue

It was the day when Ah Boi came down from Penang, met us in KLCC. We had chocolate fondue, our Swiss delicacy ... and yes we missed that food a lot, like A LOT. We decided to have it instantly once we saw it. The last time I had chocolate fondue in Swiss was REALLY VERY long ago, like what ... 29th November 2006 or something, that was my last final paper - Marketing LOL. We had our self-cook Chocolate Fondue in Winnie's room. Sighs. Oh well.

I am sure everyone of us still remember those crazy nights, the nights that we stayed up til 2am to snap pics at every corner of our school when everyone else were fast asleep, as well as hiding and peeping at people ... and laughed like some nut case -__- it was one hell of a drama, a real once in a lifetime drama, absolutely hilarious, starring Hakun and Sam lolz.

Welcome home

Time definitely flies, one year had passed, 6 months had passed and now Ah Boi is back home ... to Malaysiaaaa!!! My gawd! The days when he complained about his working place, his house and everything and finally it has all ended.

We got to know from IMI of course, where other place except there? Hehe. Days when we used to hunt for food, days when we shop shop shop hehe. Right, and of course the day ... the particular day when we cooked Chic Kut Teh during the cold winter hehe. Not to forget of course the days when we travel all down to Lugano to shop? Haha madness I know =.= Miss those days really. The fact that we used to hang out so often ... and start crapping :D

If I am not mistaken, this is one of the first pics with him ... how different ... yeah the nite ... the first ever student bar during the semester ... the tequilla sunrise nite ... oh yeah ... and someone actually got drunk ... nope, not me, not her, not him but someone else, for she just said few days before that she is ABLE to control and what bull and cock story ... I think she's the worst ever drunkard that nite, as I don't see anyone else THAT drunk. SAD-nya.

Back to home sweet home ... from England :D

It's time to move on

It was this point of the year that almost everyone had left school. The school was basically empty, just few souls walking around with nothing left to do.

From a very noisy place became a place filled with emptiness, soulless, loneliness and darkness. It felt so deserted and I swear that nobody wants to be in a place like that, it was uberly depressing. I was one of the aimlessly soul around, the very last few.

Think about it. It was so harmonious, noisy, awesome and a place feel like home once upon a time when suddenly each night you go to bed, you feel like you are trapped in a planet, with nobody else but you, and only you. Everyone is like a family there, so warm, so tranquil and in just a matter of time, one by one left, but it was never you. You witnessed so many of your beloved friends left, one after another.

No matter how much I wanna stay in that place, I wanna leave too. It just does not feel right anymore to be there, alone. Where are the happiness? It's time to move on.

Geneve 11

A little chat with someone I know last year and currently in London made me feel that time flies so fast, even faster than I could breathe and I realized how nice and how sweet Swiss is, and that we definitely miss that place so much. That place is like heaven to us, our paradise and somewhere that made me feel like we are in a different planet altogether because it was so nice and we were like caught in our own world, doing our own things and nobody even cares, nobody even bothers if you look stupid and silly. No pressure from anyone and anywhere, the time that we used to hang out and do stupid stuff that nobody else in the school was so free to do that kind of stuff. Hehe. That moment of time, even very simple things made us happy and laugh like there is no tomorrow. The joy, the happiness is all written in each and everyone of our face. All we have now is pressure and stress, that sometimes we wonder .... where have those moment gone to? Nobody wants it to end up like that, and it ended up too fast. We want to bring back the joyfulness and bliss once again. We want to be in our comfort zone ... once more. It really does feel like cloud nine. 6 months was short, but the memories we had was much more than ever. We have gone so far apart in distance ... and we will be waiting to meet up again, but ... one member will be missing and that makes us incomplete.

Talking to him makes me miss Luzern ... but ... I miss Geneva too. My starting life in Geneva was horrifying and ungodly, and it really does. However, in the end of it was awesome, beautiful, intoxicating and momentous. I know that it is cynical that I am missing that place but ... it is a fact. It was quite depressive with the amount of time I have spending time surrounded by 4 walls in a small cubicle.

With the thought that I have now, it is time to put up some pics .... to take a break from all the drinking partying and birthday session

More pics to come .. connection is pissing me off big time

We were inside the building we are and before that we were inside the green building, and it's adjoining hehe

To see the pics before and now made me realized how much weight I lost

Tourists going hoo-hoo-ha-ha over this water jet ... when the people in Geneva don't find it attractive but I still love it as it gives me the feeling of calmness and it soothes my mood

This is how the whole place looks like and it's really impressive ;)

Hair cut

Finally, I had a hair cut, a proper hair cut. How to define a proper or not proper. A proper hair cut is where I go to a salon and not-so proper is when I cut it myself or my friend cuts it for me. As you know, it costs 30 CH in Luzern to have a normal cut, and that is considered kinda cheap compared to the French part. So, students in IMI will usually ask their room mates or friends to cut for them outside of the room. If you are walking along the rooms in school and you if you see
one person sitting on the chair in the middle of nowhere, and one person standing, it's confirmed a cutting hair session. Ah Boi cut for me last year, middle of the semester.

I had my hair cut in Uptown and if it is not because it is good, I will not even go there. Why? I hate the traffic, I hate the parking. Double parking, triple parking ... anything. I spent an hour looking for a parking space. Totally insane. Nothing dramatic, still long but it is considered short if it is to be compared to the before-cut.

Before hair was chopped off ... those few inches hahah

Then ... now from the front ..

This time I really have a hair cut coz usually I just trim it, 38 RM wash and cut, cheapppp only 12 CH haha

City of Luzern

Since that for 6 months I was there, I have not taken any pictures on the lion monument, we decided to head over to the lion monument after our ice-cream session in Moevenpick.

This is a terribly and absolutely saddest piece of rock :o This dying beast draped over his shield, with a broken spear sticking out of his flank, was hewn out of a cliff face in 1821 to commemorate the 700 Swiss mercenaries killed in Paris in 1792. On August 10 that year, French revolutionaries stormed the royal palace, the Tuileries; in the face of the mob, the Swiss palace guards were ordered to lay down their arms by Louis XVI and were subsequently massacred. This would be a movingly tranquil spot, with its foliage and gently rippling pool in front, were it not for the fact that it’s the single most touristed place in the entire city.

SOurce: Lucerne

This is the school in Luzern ... compared to my school in a place called Maluri ... like heaven and hell o.O

All these are like going up to the clock tower :D

and this is the city of Luzern ;)

As I have been to the water tower and took pix of it, so we did not go, as well as to the Chapel Bridge

Though I have been here in Genf for almost 6 months now, I prefer Luzern anytime anywhere and anyhow. Luzern is the best ... fuer mich :D Luzern oh Luzern ... ich vermisse dich :( wissen Sie? So peaceful, so calm, it's the best

Let's "gin"

I'm off today ... yeshhhh!!! Funny things happen at work, why? Maybe I should not say this, I'll wait til I finish my internship first before talking bout it. Haha .... and oh ya, yesterday due to its rainy weather, I got to leave earlier than the time I'm supposed to finish. I left at 2.30 pm noon and again at 9.45pm ... while today when everyone was in the kitchen and I was doing the napkins, my boss look at me and whispered to me asking if I wanna leave. Of course I want then he said I may leave, but I dont know if he was joking or meant it, he said yah serious AND as expected, the others were not satisfied but there is nothing I can do about it :p sorry coz I didnt tell them or anything, I just went down to change and that's it ... they saw hahah ;)

I forgot to post this up, this is the cable car that we took when I went to Pilatus

When we reached Luzern and went downtown .... I was craving so badly for ice cream as usual, it's more like an obsession now ... haha ... and this place is so Moevenpick, one look you will know that it is Moevenpick already. I prefer Luzern's outlet more than anywhere else, especially the one located at downtown. I love the environment, the ambience and all. Not to forget that a group of us went there at 11 pm one day before our dissertation submission before in November last year and after that, I felt so much better and relieve and I could focus once again ;)

Later on, we went visiting in Luzern but that will come after this. Along the way to Song Pi Nong from clock tower, we bumped into Ivan and Lengchai Arm. Initially, he didnt say I lose weight, but when he was talking to me and pat my back, he said that I lost weight o.O since when I lost weight =.= At the same time from another direction, we bumped into Sasha and her bf who is also a Masters student. If I am not mistaken, his name is Julio or something like that. They were alswo going to Song Pi Nong ... so tadaaa .... let's eat ;)

This is yellow or green currry ... I think yellow if I am not mistaken and it has to be chicken :D

When I am at home, I tend to hunt for food which is not so Malaysian or Asian while I'm here, I tend to go all the way to have a very homely or local food. I know Thai is not a local cuisine, but it is a very close call. Funny heh ... but that's how it goes

When Goh was there, he was saying yetmei here and there and the owner just shook her head as she was just speechless and .... she told Sasha not to teach him anymore Thai. Haha ... and she was kinda shocked that I can understand this as well as when I was ordering. She really went o.O but .. I didnt understand it, I guessed it hahaha :D

Origin and myths of Pilatus

From Pilatus Kulm, we went down to Fraekmuentegg which took us only 5 minutes and from there we stopped at Kriens which took us 30 minutes with cable car and there was a 70 year old lady that took with us. She was so nice, and my god, she is so bilingual ... 4 languages :o coz she lived in all the different district in Switzerland before and she showed us the way to Kriens bus stop which leads us to Luzern Bahnhof, so superbly nice and explained a little about this and that on the way down. SO niceeeeee

A little of the history here about Pilatus
When Richard Wagner reached the summit of Mount Pilatus in 1859, he was overcome by the breathtaking views over central Switzerland. SInce then, millions of tourists from all over the world have enjoyed the same amazing experience as acclaimed composer of the Nibelungen Rings. Such famous people as England's Queen Victoria (on horseback), King Don Carlos of Spain and Antarctic explorer Lincoln Ellsworth have marvelled at the magnificient Alpine panorama from Mount Pilatus

There are some reason behind Pilatus symbol or you call it mascot or whatever ... anyway it's a dragon if you notice it from the first part of my entry. From time immemorial, mysterious legends and myths have enshrouded the rugged cliffs high above Lucerne. In the middle Ages, the bleak crevices were believed to be the haunt of a well-meaning dragon and spirits. It was said that the restless ghost of the Roman governer Pontius Pilate had found its final resting place in former Lake Pilatus. For a very long time it was forbidden to climb the mountain. Woe to anyone who disturbed the ghost of Pontius Pilate!

Pilatus Part 6

Haiz ... now I look as if I went tanning already ... damn damn bloody superbly dark now =.= baka and it's so the memsheissefying, tell me what's so nice about staying under the sun eating and drinking ... what's so niceeee? Even when I walk to work I felt so terribly torturing under the sun and those buggers can actually ENJOY being under the sun, it feels so sickening =.= sun sun sun, everyday sun ... shitto, dummy weather

Anyway Pilatus ... haha .. I'm procastinatng, and dragging it longer and longer ... heh ...

Yay we reached the top and what do we do?

Take pix of course, what else ... yeah besides enjoying the scenery and the fresh air of course

While walking back, turn back and look awhile ...

Yeay we are done!

I have horrible weeks to go through these days due to the weather. It's just gotta be hot, hot and even hotter and people just love tanning, eating and drinking. I need some fresh air and some natural beauty to relax.

Chilling time with clear blue sky

Da ... or hier ... or ici ... or sini ... or here, nothing much actually hahah

Seriously need a break from the crowded busy city life ... I am a very countryside person these days haha, what to do ... IMI is like that

Pilatus Part 4

Status: Recovered ... except for sore throat ... pada pa padap ...

Anyway, Pilatus... and Pilatus, I am seriously procastinating like nobody's business, anyways ....

ombg .... damn tanned! hahah seeee ... almost the same height :p I have not seen him since January this year, definitely a good time to do some catching up :D This pic was taken by a very kind lady who happened to pass by that area and offered to take a pic of the both of us ;)

The world is wide, and there are a lot of things to be learned, and seen ... all we have to do is just to open our eyes and we will realize that there are lots of interesting things that we dont know of

It's all darkness around us, but in one small little corner ... there will be sunlight and there is where we find our happiness :D

We need to put our own effort to get what we want, but we need some luck in that too ...

Sometimes, we get tired about things and just too drained to do anything anymore. You feel like you have no purpose in life. Stop there, relax, take a deep breath and after you are recovered ... continue the journey ;)

p/s: im testing ... dunno which is better, pics with messages, or pics without messages ... umm ... contemplating ... still under consideration and experiment ...
